Budget - Setting a budget is a tried and true way to avoid debt in the first place.  Instead of spending on a whim, setting a budget helps you reign in your spending habits.  Many people with debt problem actually have out of control spending habits.  Placing yourself on a 'spending diet' just might help you get your finances in order.
